Questions
- How fast can the 16GFC gear go?
- Does NPIV work? (Not on the first try.)
- It fails the same way the 8GFC gear did… if we get it working here, can we get it working there?
- Can it use old optics and work the same way at lower speeds?
- Does it use less power that way?
- Do these cards have Ethernet personality available?
- Can I use the 16G optics?
- Can I use the 1G optics?
- Do I need to get 10G optics?
- Does it make sense to export ZFS via NVMe instead of iSCSI?
Learnings
- They want to boot a GPT/EFI volume in EFI mode.
- The ports are BACKWARDS!!! RAGE
- Port numbers are off by 2 instead of by 1. WWPN and WWNN are adjacent now.
