(Apologies to Barbara for the formatting. This will be call and response like we normally do: normal text is read by the liturgist and bold text is said by everyone. This wiki is somewhat limiting in how I can present information.)

Brothers and sisters in Christ, this is a day of rejoicing.
We have cone together to reconsecrate this building of First United Methodist Church.
Let us open our hearts and minds to receive God's Word with faith.
May our blessed communion, bown of one baptism and nortured at one table of the Lord, become one temple of the Holy Spirit as we gather in love.

(Sections without parenthesis will be read by Mike Green. Empty parenthesis may be read by Bishop Stoneking, or assigned to someone else. The Book of Worship is only specific on a few paragraphs. Nap is putting his suggestions in italics with a question mark.)
We present this building to be reconsecrated for the worship of God and the service of all people.
(Bishop): By what name is this house known?
(Mike G): It is called First United Methodist Church of Salt Lake City.
(Pastor Kelsie?): Dear friends, rejoice that God so moved the hearts of people that this house has been built for praise and prayer. Let us now reconsecrate it for sevice and celebrate its holy use.
(Barbara?): This building is not ours but yours, oh God Who Provides. Its strong walls have lasted through 120 years, through many pastors, believers, and families who meet together to praise your holy name. As the storms came, the winds blew and the earth shook, the building stood firm as a witness to your power and strength. We are just the current stewards of this place, and at just the right time, you provided the workers to strengthen and beautify the outside to reflect the spirit within it. Its foundation will always be Jesus Christ, and we will continue the work of reaching outside to the needy world. We re-consecrate not just masonry, but ourselves. (Note: This is not from the official text.)
(Bishop): O eternal God, mighty in power and of incomprehensible majesty, whom the heavens cannot contain, much less the walls of temples made with hands, you have promised your special presence whenever two or three are assembled in your name to offer praise and prayer.
By the power of your Holy Spirit reconsecrate this house of your worship. Bless us and sanctify what we do here, that this place may be holy for us and a house of prayer for all people.
(Pastor Kelsie?): Guide and empower in this place by the same Spirit
(Barry?): Save us from that failure of vision which would confine our worship within these walls, but send us out from here to be your servants in the world, sharing the blessings of Christ with the world He came to redeem.
(Bishop): Now, O God, sanctify this place, for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the dominion, and you are exalted as head above all.

Gracious Lord, we thank you for reminding us in Galatians 3:28 that “ There is no longer Jew or Greek; there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” Today there is also no longer able-bodied or infirm, young or old, for we welcome all to “enter your gates with thanksgiving,” by the blessing of our elevator. We praise you for providing this needed help through generous gifts and compassionate hearts. We re-consecrate it today to continue the important work of meeting our whole community’s needs.
“We Will Build This House” - Liturgical Dance by Jason Archuleta
Dear Lord God, we celebrate Jesus’ life through the art of our stained glass windows. You speak to us through the beautiful windows that remind us of his miraculous birth, to his knocking at the door of our hearts, to his gentle shepherding through our lives and his triumphant resurrection at the tomb on Easter. He was the king with the thorny crown, the light of the world, and king of our lives today. We re-consecrate the historic windows that let in your glorious light and witness to the world our faith, and joy in living for Christ.
Vocal, Organ, or Piano Solo TBD
(Ask all workers to stand who were part of each renovation to be recognized.)
Loving God, in Genesis 8, you remind us that, ”As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease.” We thank you for the warmth of our heating system, to protect us in the cold winters, that we can gather to worship and serve in comfort and safety. We gratefully share the warmth with our unsheltered neighbors and praise your lovingkindness. We re-consecrate our new boiler and the hands that repaired it.
